Cognitive Therapy
Cognitive therapy is grounded in science and focuses on helping you to identify the ineffective patterns of thinking that are causing you to feel bad and preventing you from moving forward. It is generally considered to be more structured and shorter in length than traditional talk therapy, and the focus is on helping people learn skills that improve how they are functioning.
There are multiple types of cognitive therapy including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, and Future-Directed Therapy. I have spent more than a decade not only treating clients but teaching other mental health professionals how to provide these therapy models.
