New Client Consultation

Therapy is not a one size fits all model and for therapy to be successful there needs to be a good fit between the client and the therapist. The best way to find a psychologist who can address you specific needs is to have an initial consultation session where you can talk to the therapist about your concerns and the therapist can evaluate whether they have the training and skills to help with your specific issue.

In order to make the most of this consultation and to assist me in understanding your needs, once you have scheduled a consultation time, a brief on-line questionnaire will be sent to you via the patient portal asking you to answer a few questions about your reason for seeking a consultation and some information about treatment history and possible symptoms you may currently be having.
If after the consultation I determine that there are other psychologists who are better suited to help you, I will provide you with links to resources in your state that can help you find a therapist that may be able to better assist you, though I cannot guarantee the quality of services of any other mental health provider.
Please note that you will be asked to provide your credit card information to hold the consultation time. If you change your mind and decide not to keep the consultation, you simply need to send an email via the contact page or cancel the appointment through the patient portal 24 hours before the consultation. If you do not cancel your appointment 24 hours in advance, you will be charged a $50 late cancellation fee.
Please note that there is no cost for the first 15 minute consultation. However, if you have a complex history you have the option of scheduling a longer consultation at the standard therapy hour rate.
The standard rate for a 60-minute therapy session is $325 per session and 45 minute sessions are $275. While I do not accept insurance directly, some portion of your sessions may be covered by your health insurance plan. Many patients I work with receive direct reimbursement from their insurance company.

Please note, I do not schedule appointments more than 2 weeks in advance. If you do not see a time slot that is convenient for you please check back the following week or send an email via the contact page to request an alternate time.
